The Creators of Blooming Creations

Here you can read a short self-introduction of the writers and creators of the Wiki page, Blooming Creations.

The group consist of five women from different professions, joined in the aim of investigating new media.

Each contributor has included their report topic for assessment 3, where these reports are reflective of their research and interests within a new media setting.

Mette Lund Petersen

Mette is 23 and from Denmark where she completed a Bachelor in Business Development Engineering from the Institute of Business and Technology, Aarhus University. She is currently enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Creative Indusries with an Interdiciplinary Major at the Queensland University of Technology.

Qualifications
Her knowledge areas are strategy, organization-theory, product and concept development and innovation.

Personality
Mette is organised, idea-rich and collaborative. She loves to have fun, is not afraid of a challenges, and has ambitions for herself as well as the people around her. She is very enthusiatic, has a positive outlook and an optimistic view of the world.

Use of New media in co-creation between fans and musicians
An investigating in co-creation in New Media between Musicians and their fans. How does it change the relationship between the parties and what is the benefits and pitfalls for both parties. To put a light on the changes new media co-creation does for the whole music business an example of a co-creating musicians business-model, will be examined.

Michelle Gray


Profession
Michelle is currently studying her Graduate Certificate in Creative Industries at the Queensland University of Technology. S5000932.JPG
Her past work experiences include working on feature films, televisions commercials, and in Network Television.

Qualifications
This is Michelle's first flirtation with University life, with her past education including a Diploma of Screen from the Armidale Film and Television School, and an Associate Diploma in Speech & Drama with Trinity College London.

Personality
When Michelle is not studying hard, she works at Greencross Vet as a veterinary receptionist. She has a passion for animal welfare and is an avid support of the local RSPCA branch here in Brisbane. Michelle also has two dogs, both Dachshund crosses called Brian and Bruno. Both were rescued from Brisbane shelters.

A discussion on the impact new media has on the of world politics. Specifically we will discuss the important role new media played during the recent uprising in Egypt and consequential ousting of Hosni Mubarak.

Stephanie King


Profession

Brisbane-born Stephanie currently works at Envoi Pathology and Holland & Holland Tax Agency, but is yet to determine her official career. She had originally planned on becoming a surgeon, however her true passion lies within the creative, and not scientific, field. Stephanie is hopeful for the future and excited to commence her working life in whatever position that may be.

Qualifications
Stephanie recently completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Queensland and is undertaking a Master of Creative Industries at the Queensland University of Technology.

Personality
Stephanie is as serious as she is fun. She loves being creative, be it through sewing, painting, or crafts in general. She also has an occasionally insufferable need to finish what she starts as quickly and accurately as possible, finding it difficult to turn away her attention once she is focused. Her organised nature fuels that inherent desire to achieve as much as she can to get the most out of life.

Chien-Ju Lin (Sabrina)

Being a Mathematics teacher, Chien-Ju have taught in middle school for years in Taiwan. After realizing that there is a growing tendency for Information communication and technology (ICT) to be involved in education, IT has been chosen to be her major for current study.

Qualifications
With undergraduate degree in Mathematics and the qualification of high school teacher, she is studying at QUT in Information Technology with Digital Environments major.

Personality
As a friendly and easy-going type of person, she loves to make various friends from different countries. This can help her not only to discover different cultures but also to promote her country, Taiwan, as well.

While chalkboard and whiteboard in many classrooms have been replaced by a big screen with a projector and a computer, the E-learning systems have become increasingly popular in several counties. The future of these systems relates to the development of new media in education. It is possible to change the teacher-center structure of school education to student-center one via new media.

Najla Al Nomair


Profession

Najla has previously worked as a web developer & systems analyst, giving her the experience she needed to understand the technical aspects of the Information systems. She is yet to decide on a career path and thinks of her masters as a tool to give her a deeper and more analytical perspective of the ITC technologies. She hopes that this degree will help her to narrow down her focus to a specific area of interest to do further research on and maybe, to master one day.

Qualifications
Najla has a bachelor degree with first class honors in Information Technology and she is currently pursuing her Masters in the same field majoring in Digital Environments.

Personality
Najla is an eloquent, sharp-tongued, talkative & easygoing person. She can be inconsistent sometimes, easily bored, curious & superficial but she is versatile, witty, intellectual, extremist. She is a simple person in a very complicated way. She can be categorized as a chocoholic, shopaholic and outgoing, edgy, natural communicator, logical and perfectionist, impatient, chaotic yet highly organized! Najla can be described in two words: "Extremely Gemini!"

Najla is a very diverse person when it comes to her interests. She likes reading, movies, interior design, writing, art work, poetry & cooking occasionally. She also likes having fun while doing anything. She gets excited about meeting new people and having profound conversations. She also interested in collage art, high-tech stuff, learning new things, creative thinking, gardening & silk painting.
